{"id":30323,"date":"2023-11-30T01:21:59","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T14:51:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=30323"},"modified":"2023-12-15T01:52:29","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T15:22:29","slug":"andriana-petrakis-crowned-national-champion-at-2023-australian-tennis-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2023\/11\/30\/andriana-petrakis-crowned-national-champion-at-2023-australian-tennis-championships","title":{"rendered":"Petrakis, Costa and Lane claim national titles at 2023 Australian Tennis Championships\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Australia\u2019s leading players with an intellectual impairment (PWII) and players who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHoH) converged on Melbourne for the annual Australian Tennis Championships.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 69 players competed for national titles at the four-day event, which was held at Tennis World Albert Reserve from 23-26 November.<\/p>\n<p>There was a changing of the guard in the II-1 women\u2019s singles, with South Australia\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Andriana Petrakis<\/strong> defeating top-ranked Australian Kelly Wren, from New South Wales, to win the division one title.\u00a0<strong>Nicholas Costa<\/strong>\u00a0claimed the Division Two II-3 men&#8217;s singles title and <strong>Macy Lane<\/strong>\u00a0won the DHoH women&#8217;s singles title.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I went to Melbourne for the Australian Tennis Championships last week. I won the women\u2019s singles final in my first ever title and a doubles finalist with Bonnie Johnson,&#8221; Petrakis said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I felt very proud and happy with myself.
