Australia\u2019s top junior tennis players will take part in the 2023 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Hardcourt Championships <\/strong>in Adelaide this week, with action on court from Tuesday 3 to Sunday 8 October.<\/p>\n

A total of 190 junior players will take to the courts at West Lakes Tennis Club, competing for the 12-and-under and 14-and-under national titles.<\/p>\n

South Australia is set to field an impressive list of participants in the event, with nine players accepted directly into their respective main draws and an additional four players to join the lists as qualifiers.<\/p>\n

The local contingent will be led by Jeffrey Strydom<\/strong> who will be the top seed in the 14-and-under boys. Leana Nannapaneni<\/strong> will lead the 14-and-under girls, with Elisha Wee<\/strong> and Hannah Park<\/strong> to lead South Australia in the 12-and-under competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Australia is pleased to once again play host to the 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Hardcourt Championships,\u201d Tennis SA CEO Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese events provide a great opportunity for Australia\u2019s up-and-coming juniors to compete against each other and gain valuable experience on the national stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Australia has a proud history of national champions, with the likes of Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz, Edward Winter, Edward Vo, Alexander Despoja and Michael Smith all winning national championships in recent years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to welcome the players and their families to Adelaide this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

The championships form a part of the Australian Junior Championships taking place over the coming months with December Showdown End-of-Year Masters to be held in Melbourne, followed by the Grasscourt Championships in Mildura in January 2024.<\/p>\n
