{"id":2602,"date":"2011-06-27T12:17:11","date_gmt":"2011-06-27T02:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=2602"},"modified":"2011-06-27T12:17:11","modified_gmt":"2011-06-27T02:47:11","slug":"head-coach-of-national-academy-adelaide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2011\/06\/27\/head-coach-of-national-academy-adelaide","title":{"rendered":"Head Coach of National Academy &#8211; Adelaide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leading coach <strong>Milo Bradley <\/strong>has been appointed the Head Coach of Tennis Australia\u2019s <strong>National Academy<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> <strong>Adelaide<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Responsible for launching the inaugural <strong>National Academy \u2013 Perth <\/strong>as Head Coach (2007 to 2008), Bradley will now work closely with South Australia and Northern Territory\u2019s most talented tennis players aged 10 to 17 years inclusive at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tennis Australia Developmental Manager <strong>Scott Draper <\/strong>said the appointment of Bradley was significant to nurturing the talent of junior athletes in the region.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMilo has established himself as an experienced coach who has enjoyed success with some of the country\u2019s leading players and national teams at all age levels,\u201d said Draper.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will join <strong>Anthony Lane <\/strong>(Academy Coach) and <strong>Rohan Fisher <\/strong>(Athlete Development Manager)<strong> <\/strong>as part of an energetic team in Adelaide that will continue to bring the best out of our rising tennis stars.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bradley has enjoyed a distinguished career in coaching, most recently as coach of the <strong>Davis Cup Transition Squad <\/strong>at the <strong>Australian Institute of Sport <\/strong>(AIS) (2010 to 2011) and men\u2019s coach with the<strong> AIS Pro Tour Tennis Program <\/strong>(2008 to 2010).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was also team captain of the national <strong>Junior Davis Cup <\/strong>team, which finished top in Asia Oceania qualifying and will compete in the world final in Mexico in September.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During his time with the AIS Pro Tour Tennis Program, Bradley worked closely with current No.159 <strong>Matthew Ebden<\/strong> (WA) and supported the rising star as he rose more than 200 places in 2009. He also teamed with Lane as Ebden reached the main draw of the Australian Open in 2010.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bradley was also a state coach in Athlete Development at <strong>Tennis West<\/strong> for more than six years (2001 to 2007), where he was directly involved in the transition of former world No.39 <strong>Casey Dellacqua <\/strong>(WA) into the AIS Pro Tour Tennis program and supported <strong>Brydan Klein <\/strong>(WA) as he won the <strong>Australian Open Junior Championships <\/strong>in 2007.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am humbled and delighted to be appointed to this position,\u201d said Bradley.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m also excited to be working with Anthony and Rohan, both of whom I have had the pleasure of working alongside before.\u00a0I believe we have the makings of a strong team\u00a0who can develop promising tennis athletes of the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to building on the region&#8217;s\u00a0successful history of producing professional tennis players.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The National Academy \u2013 Adelaide was launched in January 2007 and represents the pinnacle of elite tennis training offered by <strong>Tennis SA<\/strong> and Tennis Australia.
