{"id":24106,"date":"2021-10-12T12:49:52","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T02:19:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=24106"},"modified":"2021-11-08T18:42:01","modified_gmt":"2021-11-08T08:12:01","slug":"tennis-sa-state-league-all-stars-kick-off-2021-22-tennis-sa-state-league-season-in-style","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2021\/10\/12\/tennis-sa-state-league-all-stars-kick-off-2021-22-tennis-sa-state-league-season-in-style","title":{"rendered":"Tennis SA State League All Stars kick off 2021\/22 Tennis SA State League season in style"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2021\/22 Tennis SA State League season has been officially launched by the <strong>Tennis SA State League All Stars<\/strong> on the Eyre Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA, in conjunction with the <strong>City of Port Lincoln, Port Lincoln Tennis Association<\/strong> and<strong> Elderton Wines<\/strong>, hosted the inaugural event in Port Lincoln on Saturday 9 October.<\/p>\n<p>The state\u2019s highest level competition visited regional South Australia for the first time, with eight Tennis SA State League players joining six local tennis players to create Team Red and Team Blue.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tennis SA State League All Stars visit the Eyre Peninsula\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OdeuNYnbmSA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The match came down to the wire with the teams locked at five rubbers a piece at the conclusion of play with a countback required to determine the winner. Team Blue eventually emerged victorious with nine sets to seven.<\/p>\n<p>Players also participated in a Family Fun Day, along with tourism activities including swimming with the sea lions with Calypso Star Charters, an Experience Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tour and a visit to Beer Garden Brewing for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVisiting Port Lincoln and being a part of the Tennis SA State League All Stars has been a fantastic experience,\u201d Tennis SA State League All Star <strong>Heidi Evans<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe atmosphere on court was insane, there was a huge crowd and the support from the local community really spurred us on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was also great to be able to explore the region and really experience all that Port Lincoln has to offer,\u201d Evans continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weekend was so much fun. It was great to go to Port Lincoln for the first time, meet new people and have the support of a great crowd,\u201d Tennis SA State League All Star <strong>Sean Van Rensburg<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI received a message from a parent on social media after the Family Fun Day to say thank you for playing tennis with and inspiring her son. It was great to hear the impact we have left on the local community in such a short amount of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was such a fun event to be a part of and I really enjoyed my time exploring the Eyre Peninsula,\u201d Van Rensburg added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe inaugural Tennis SA State League All Stars event has been a huge success,\u201d Tennis SA Head of Tournaments and Competitions <strong>Dylan Hicks<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a wonderful team of All Stars who really immersed themselves in the experience and connected with the local community.
