The first UTR Pro Tennis Tour<\/strong> tournament at West Lakes has come to an end this afternoon with top seeds Li Tu<\/strong> (SA) and Alexandra Bozovic <\/strong>(NSW) claiming the titles.<\/p>\n

Tu defeated Omar Jasika<\/strong> (Vic) 5-7 6-0 6-2 to win the men\u2019s tournament, his fourth UTR Pro Tennis Tour title in his home state.<\/p>\n

Jasika took the first three games of the match before Tu won five games straight to lead 5-3, with Jasika fighting back to take the first set 7-5 in just over an hour. In front of a home crowd, Tu settled to take the second and third sets comfortably, 6-0 6-2.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a really tough match, I know that Omar has been playing well all week and has been competing really hard,\u201d Tu said following the match.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe played at an unreal level in the first set. I didn\u2019t do too much wrong, but he really outplayed me in the big moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the second and third, I just backed myself in, tried to find a way and got lucky in a few crucial moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unreal to be playing at home. I get to see family and friends while I am here, it\u2019s been great having these events here in Adelaide.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s, Bozovic defeated Belinda Woolcock<\/strong> (Vic) 6-2 6-3 to take the win.<\/p>\n

The opening four games of the match were tight before Bozovic claimed the first set in 38 minutes. Woolcock rallied towards the end of the second set before Bozovic held on to take the match 6-2 6-3.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s match was pretty tough coming up against Belinda. She\u2019s one of the top seeds and she was in really good form coming in to this match, I had to be on from the get go,\u201d Bozovic said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis tournament was amazing. The conditions this week weren\u2019t so great, with the wind, rain and sun, but in the end it worked out well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tu and Bozovic will lead the fields once again for the second UTR Pro Tennis Tour tournament commencing at 9.00 am on Monday.<\/p>\n

Bozovic will be joined in the women\u2019s field by South Australian Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz<\/strong> (SA).<\/p>\n

Kempenaers-Pocz, 16, received a wildcard into Australian Open qualifying earlier this year and made her Australian Open doubles debut alongside world No.3 Simona Halep<\/strong> (ROU) in February.<\/p>\n

The UTR Pro Tennis Tour events come following the successful rollout of the tour in 2020. The format features a singles only competition for men and women based on Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR), and features a player group round robin followed by a World Cup-style playoff format.<\/p>\n
