{"id":22848,"date":"2021-05-12T13:45:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T04:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=22848"},"modified":"2021-05-12T13:45:12","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T04:15:12","slug":"first-foundations-laid-at-memorial-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2021\/05\/12\/first-foundations-laid-at-memorial-drive","title":{"rendered":"First foundations laid at Memorial Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first foundations for the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment stage two project have been laid this week.<\/p>\n<p>The first concrete pour took place in the south eastern corner of the Eastern Stand with 350 cubic metres of concrete poured.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequent pours will occur across the site in the coming weeks and once complete, precast core walls and precast columns will be constructed before the first and second floors are poured.<\/p>\n<p>The $44 million stage two project includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">The demolition of the\u00a0<strong>North Stand<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Construction of new\u00a0<strong>Northern\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Eastern Facilities\u00a0<\/strong>linked by a concourse level, with enhanced patron amenities, food and beverage facilities<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\"><strong>Northern Facility<\/strong>\u00a0to include a\u00a0<strong>Media and Sports Technology Centre<\/strong>, with broadcast facilities, media lounge and space for\u00a0<strong>high performance sports research\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>development<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\"><strong>Eastern Facility<\/strong>\u00a0to be integrated with the Adelaide Oval Southern Plaza, incorporating\u00a0<strong>high performance training<\/strong>\u00a0facilities,\u00a0<strong>premium multipurpose event\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0function<\/strong>\u00a0spaces<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\"><strong>Northern<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Eastern Facilities\u00a0<\/strong>fully accessible to all levels<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Addition of rigging points on the roof and<strong>\u00a0feature lighting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project is on schedule to be event ready for the Adelaide International in January 2022, with completion expected in mid-2022.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment, visit:\u00a0<a style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2LO0AxS\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/2LO0AxS<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first foundations for the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment stage two project have been laid this week.
