Broadview<\/strong> (City\/Hills) and Renmark Tintra Lawn<\/strong> (Rural) have been announced as South Australia\u2019s Most Outstanding Tennis Clubs <\/strong>in 2021.<\/p>\n

While professional athletes Alex Bolt <\/strong>(Murray Bridge, SA) and Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz<\/strong> were awarded South Australia\u2019s most prestigious player awards, the Burr and Boyce Medals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The awards among others were presented at the Tennis SA Awards Dinner held at the InterContinental Adelaide in front of 320 attendees on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tennis SA Awards Dinner was a great celebration of the outstanding achievements of our players, coaches, clubs, communities, volunteers and officials over the past 12 months,\u201d Tennis SA CEO Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was wonderful to have been able to celebrate in person this year and to recognise our tennis communities around the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur congratulations to all of the award winners and finalists for their hard work and dedication to our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Broadview Tennis Club<\/strong> prides itself on having a positive, safe and welcoming environment for its members. Overall membership numbers continue to grow through a wide variety of well organised programs, with female participation levels hitting new heights in 2021.<\/p>\n

Broadview Tennis Club President Martin Richards<\/strong> was excited to accept the award in the club\u2019s one hundredth year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are absolutely thrilled to have won with the Most Outstanding Club award for the City and Hills,\u201d Richards said. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have worked hard to create the Broadview family atmosphere and we are so honoured to accept this award as we celebrate our 100th<\/sup> anniversary in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis award is a testament to our dedicated volunteers and club members.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Renmark Tintra Lawn Tennis Club<\/strong>, this award is their second in three years. The club delivers a variety of programs, with every effort made to ensure that they are accessible to all members of the community. The club has forged bonds with local primary and high schools, creating a highly successful school to club pathway.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honoured to accept the rural award for Most Outstanding Tennis Club,\u201d Renmark Tintra Lawn Tennis Club President John Pick <\/strong>said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have really focussed on being a dynamic, progressive and inclusive club, and we can see that work paying off with membership retention and growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis award is a credit to our wonderful committee, members, sponsors and local council who we would very much like to thank.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reade Park<\/strong>, Seacliff<\/strong>, Somerton Park<\/strong> and Woodville Orion<\/strong> Tennis Clubs were contenders for the City\/Hills accolade, whilst Clare<\/strong>, Mannum<\/strong>, Normanville<\/strong> and Port Lincoln<\/strong> Tennis Clubs were finalists in the rural category.<\/p>\n

Jill Sutter<\/strong> and Jan MacDonald<\/strong> were inducted into the South Australian Legends Club.\u00a0Jasmine Adams<\/strong>\u00a0and Mia Tsoukalas<\/strong> were joint winners of the Gwen Thiele Memorial Trophy<\/strong> for most outstanding 18-and-under female, while Edward Winter<\/strong> won the Don Turnbull Memorial Trophy <\/strong>for most outstanding 18-and-under male.<\/p>\n

The City of Tea Tree Gully <\/strong>won the award for Most Outstanding Council or Government Department<\/strong>, while Australian representative team member for Players with an Intellectual Disability Andriana Petrakis <\/strong>was announced as the Most Outstanding Player with a Disability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sam Wall <\/strong>took home the Coaching Excellence – Talent Development <\/strong>award, while Domenic Marafiote<\/strong> won the Coaching Excellence – Club<\/strong> award. Cobdogla Primary School<\/strong>\u00a0was named the Most Outstanding School<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
