{"id":21615,"date":"2020-11-26T16:01:17","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T05:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=21615"},"modified":"2020-11-26T16:01:18","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T05:31:18","slug":"coronavirus-covid-19-update-from-tennis-sa-ceo-debbie-sterrey-26-november-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2020\/11\/26\/coronavirus-covid-19-update-from-tennis-sa-ceo-debbie-sterrey-26-november-2020","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus (COVID-19) update from Tennis SA CEO, Debbie Sterrey \u2013 26 November 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Firstly, I want to thank you for your patience while we worked with SAPOL and SA Health to clarify the COVID-19 restrictions affecting our sport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we received some good news from the SAPOL Covid\n19 Coordination Group as a result of our continued advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please see full advice below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SAPOL Covid 19 Coordination Group to Tennis SA CEO\nDebbie Sterrey &#8211; Thursday 26 November 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A meeting was held this\nmorning between SAPOL and SA Health regarding coaching of tennis.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Previous advice to Tennis\nSA from SA Health was that coaching of tennis was not permitted.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I can confirm today this\nadvice has been updated, endorsed by both SAPOL and SA Health, permitting 1 on\n1 coaching. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Further to this I confirm\nSA Health previous advice that group coaching is not permitted.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In respect of cardio tennis\nsessions this is only permitted if fitness based. Training sessions are not\npermitted.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Can you please advise all\ninterested parties of this update.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>SAPOL Covid 19 Coordination Group<\/em><br><em>Approved by Superintendent Rice<\/em> <br><em>Officer in Charge Covid-19 Coordination Group<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>-ends- <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is the updated list of <strong>permitted<\/strong>\ntennis activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 on 1 private coaching <\/li><li>Cardio Tennis sessions (fitness based)\n     &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Tennis\n     courts open for a casual hit between mates as a recreational activity (not\n     a club planned activity) <\/li><li>Indoor\n     meetings (contact tracing records required) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All activities are subject to the\ndensity requirement (one person per <strong>4<\/strong> square metres) and physical\ndistancing principle (1.5 metres between people), as well as\nour Community Tennis Guidelines (available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/players\/coronavirus-covid-19\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clubs must\nhave a COVID Marshal in attendance at any times of expected high traffic,\nincluding times of planned activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Not permitted <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All other forms of tennis coaching, excluding 1\n     on 1 private coaching and Cardio Tennis <\/li><li>Club organised trainings, competitions\n     and events (including, but not restricted to the following: planned club\n     trainings, internal club social tennis competitions, inter club\n     competitions, club tournaments)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As we stated yesterday, it is important that our\ntennis community works together to ensure we get the best outcomes.
