Drive Centre Court redevelopment receives $44 million boost for stage two"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The stage two redevelopment of Memorial Drive will begin in 2021 following the announcement of $44 million in funding in the South Australian Government\u2019s State Budget, released on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the back of the redevelopment\nannouncement Tennis Australia has also confirmed world-class tennis will be\nstaged at the venue for 10 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $44 million stage\ntwo project includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The\ndemolition of the <strong>North Stand<\/strong><\/li><li>Construction\nof a new <strong>Northern Facility<\/strong> to provide state of the art facilities for\nevents, high performance training and media <\/li><li>Construction\nof a new<strong> Eastern Facility<\/strong>, the home of a <strong>Sports Innovation and\nTechnology Hub<\/strong> <\/li><li>Eastern\nFacility to be integrated with the Adelaide Oval Southern Plaza, incorporating a\n<strong>media mesh screen<\/strong> and <strong>premium event spaces<\/strong> <\/li><li>Addition\nof rigging points on the roof and<strong> feature lighting<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tennis SA CEO <strong>Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> welcomed the State Government\u2019s investment into Memorial Drive and the home of Tennis SA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled the State Government will invest $44 million towards stage two of the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment,\u201d Debbie Sterrey said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis\nfunding will continue the transformation of our venue and see it achieve its\npotential as a vibrant sporting, community, entertainment and innovation hub,\nwhilst ensuring the venue\u2019s heritage is retained for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\nthank the South Australian Government for their continued support of tennis in\nour state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure prime location in the centre of Adelaide, a\nworld-leading Sports Innovation and Technology Hub and the flexibility to host\na wider variety of community, sporting and entertainment events, Memorial Drive\nwill become an even more valuable asset for all South Australians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nupgrade will also make the venue an attractive proposition for other high\nprofile tennis events such as
