{"id":21437,"date":"2020-11-07T11:31:13","date_gmt":"2020-11-07T01:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=21437"},"modified":"2020-11-13T12:38:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-13T02:08:00","slug":"racquet-roadshow-visits-kangaroo-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2020\/11\/07\/racquet-roadshow-visits-kangaroo-island","title":{"rendered":"Racquet Roadshow visits Kangaroo Island"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>62\nReception students at <strong>Kangaroo Island Community Education <\/strong>were\ngiven brand new racquets this week thanks to <strong>ANZ<\/strong> and <strong>Tennis\nAustralia\u2019s<\/strong> initiative to get kids moving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of\nthe <strong>ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow<\/strong> initiative, <strong>Sandon Stolle<\/strong>\ndelivered racquets to the Kingscote Campus, joined by <strong>Todd Woodbridge<\/strong> and\n<strong>John Fitzgerald <\/strong>who made a special virtual appearance to encourage\nstudents to pick up a racquet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ANZ\nTennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshowcampaign will deliver racquets to\nthirty-thousand first year primary school students at more than 800 schools\nacross Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By\nDecember, <strong>170,000 racquets<\/strong> will have been delivered to schools since\n2015, thanks to ANZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\ninitiative to introduce more kids to tennis comes as reports continued to be\nreleased about declining levels of activity in children.&nbsp; These racquets\nwill help get kids moving at school, home and in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are\nso many skills that kids can develop at a young age by playing tennis,\nregardless of whether that\u2019s on the court, in their backyard or even in their\nlounge room\u201d said Australian tennis legend <strong>Todd Woodbridge.<\/strong>&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur\npartnership with ANZ has given 170,000 kids across Australia the opportunity to\nget active and enjoy playing tennis as part of a healthy lifestyle,\u201d Tennis\nAustralia\u2019s Chief Tennis Officer<strong> Matt Dwyer<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter the\ndisrupted year our kids have had, keeping them active and engaged is even more\nimportant for their overall wellbeing.
