75 Reception students at Reidy Park Primary School <\/strong>were given brand new racquets today thanks to ANZ<\/strong> and Tennis Australia\u2019s<\/strong> initiative to get kids moving.<\/p>\n

As part of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow<\/strong> initiative, tennis legend Todd Woodbridge made a special virtual appearance through a video call to encourage students to pick up a racquet.<\/p>\n

The ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow <\/strong>campaign will deliver racquets to thirty-thousand first year primary school students at more than 800 schools across Australia.<\/p>\n

By December, 170,000 racquets<\/strong> will have been delivered to schools since 2015, thanks to ANZ.<\/p>\n

This initiative to introduce more kids to tennis comes as reports continued to be released about declining levels of activity in children.\u00a0 These racquets will help get kids moving at school, home and in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are so many skills that kids can develop at a young age by playing tennis, regardless of whether that\u2019s on the court, in their backyard or even in their lounge room\u201d said Australian tennis legend Todd Woodbridge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to have been selected to be a part of this year\u2019s ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow,\u201d said Sam Griffith,<\/strong> Reidy Park Primary School Acting Principal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been wonderful to have Todd Woodbridge visit our school virtually today and to have the team from Tennis SA here to present the students with their racquets.<\/p>\n

\u201cA big thank you to ANZ, we look forward to seeing the kids jump on court with their new racquets very soon!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur partnership with ANZ has given 170,000 kids across Australia the opportunity to get active and enjoy playing tennis as part of a healthy lifestyle,\u201d Tennis Australia\u2019s Chief Tennis Officer Matt Dwyer<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the disrupted year our kids have had, keeping them active and engaged is even more important for their overall wellbeing. ANZ has helped us put racquets in their hands, giving kids the tools they need to be creative in how they experience our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really proud of our continued support of tennis at a grassroots level, encouraging Australians to get active and look after their wellbeing,\u201d said Katherine Bray<\/strong>, Managing Director Retail at ANZ.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past five years this partnership with Tennis Australia has delivered racquets to thousands of communities across the country, helping young kids to get involved in community sports like tennis.\u201d<\/p>\n
