{"id":20444,"date":"2020-06-17T14:33:47","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T05:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=20444"},"modified":"2020-06-22T10:38:08","modified_gmt":"2020-06-22T01:08:08","slug":"tennis-sa-welcomes-three-new-directors-to-the-board-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2020\/06\/17\/tennis-sa-welcomes-three-new-directors-to-the-board-2","title":{"rendered":"Tennis SA welcomes three new directors to the Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Col Lawson, Joanna Lydeamore<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Roger Sanderson<\/strong>\u00a0have been elected this week to join the\u00a0<strong>Tennis SA Board<\/strong>\u00a0from 1 July 2020.<\/p>\n<p>President of West Lakes Tennis Club for nine years and a player for the past 25 years, Col Lawson joins the Board with significant risk management and club operational experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really pleased to accept this position on the Tennis SA Board,\u201d said Mr Lawson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am passionate about helping the wider community and look forward to playing my part in the strategic and sustainable development of tennis clubs around the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Memorial Drive Tennis Club and Women&#8217;s Mid-Week Grasscourt Tennis Association Secretary Joanna Lydeamore, her appointment to the Tennis SA Board sees her follow in the footsteps of her late father Dennis Dall, the first President of Tennis SA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTennis has played a huge part in my life and I am excited to continue that involvement as part of the Tennis SA Board,\u201d said Ms Lydeamore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that through this role I can support the growth of associations and clubs in South Australia, and look forward to the new opportunities this role will bring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heavily involved as Treasurer of Tennis Seniors South Australia, Roger Sanderson was pleased to accept his position on the Board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Board member, I am looking forward to playing my part in supporting and promoting our great sport,\u201d said Mr Sanderson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pleased to take up this new position working with tennis clubs and associations, along with the Tennis SA Board and staff moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new additions bring the Tennis SA Board to a composition of 50% female and 50% male.<\/p>\n<p>Monday night also saw outgoing Tennis SA Board Directors\u00a0<strong>Neville Messenger <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Dr Alice Clark<\/strong>\u00a0thanked for their service.<\/p>\n<p>Neville has been a member of the Board for 20 years, elected in July 2000. A Life Member of Tennis SA, Neville is heavily involved in the sport at both association and club level. This experience has allowed Neville to provide key insights and vast knowledge, particularly within the competitions space.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Alice Clark has been a member of the Board for two years, elected in July 2018. Through her role as Executive Director of Shelter SA, Dr Clark has brought a consciousness of the wider society to the Board and has been an active contributor to the development of Tennis SA\u2019s Reconciliation Action Plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Tennis SA Board member for 20 years, Neville has displayed enormous commitment and continues to be an outstanding contributor to tennis at a grassroots level in South Australia,\u201d said Tennis SA President\u00a0<strong>Kent Thiele.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA more recent inclusion, we also acknowledge Dr Alice Clark for her time and contribution to the Tennis SA Board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to thank them both for their continued involvement and support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to congratulate Col, Joanna and Roger on their appointments to the Tennis SA Board and we look forward to working with them in the future,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>As of 1 July 2020, the Tennis SA Board will comprise of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kent Thiele,\u00a0President<\/li>\n<li>Philip Roberts,\u00a0Vice President<\/li>\n<li>Liz Campbell<\/li>\n<li>Julie Day<\/li>\n<li>Col Lawson<\/li>\n<li>Joanna Lydeamore<\/li>\n<li>Natalie Morley<\/li>\n<li>Kerry Morrow<\/li>\n<li>Roger Sanderson<\/li>\n<li>Gary Stratford<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Col Lawson, Joanna Lydeamore and\u00a0Roger Sanderson\u00a0have been elected this week to join the\u00a0Tennis SA Board\u00a0from 1 July 2020.
