{"id":19662,"date":"2019-12-21T18:16:35","date_gmt":"2019-12-21T07:46:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=19662"},"modified":"2019-12-21T18:16:35","modified_gmt":"2019-12-21T07:46:35","slug":"clay-court-pavilion-named-in-honour-of-first-tennis-sa-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2019\/12\/21\/clay-court-pavilion-named-in-honour-of-first-tennis-sa-president","title":{"rendered":"Clay Court pavilion named in honour of first Tennis SA President"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pavilion at the Tennis SA Clay Court complex was named in honour of former Tennis SA President <strong>Dennis Dall<\/strong> today.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis\u2019 wife Kerry, children Sarah, Tiffany, David and Joanna, as well as their families joined today\u2019s ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>A high profile South Australian businessman, Dall was elected as President of the newly formed Tennis SA in 1996 following the merger of the South Australian Hardcourt Tennis League and the South Australian Lawn Tennis Association. He spent nine years as President and was awarded a Tennis SA life membership following his term. He also received the Tennis Australia National Award for Service to the Game in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Involved in tennis for many years as both a player and administrator, during his time as President, Dall oversaw the restructure of the sport in South Australia including the establishment of\u00a0Tennis SA and the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Dall passed away in 2009, following a battle with illness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDennis was the first President of Tennis SA following its formation in 1996 and led the team at a time of significant change for tennis in South Australia,\u201d said Tennis SA President <strong>Kent Thiele.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is wonderful to have had Dennis\u2019 immediate family members here today to be a part of this naming ceremony and today\u2019s announcement will ensure that he is remembered for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A pavilion at the Tennis SA Clay Court complex was named in honour of former Tennis SA President Dennis Dall today.
