{"id":19368,"date":"2019-11-06T12:53:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T02:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=19368"},"modified":"2019-11-06T12:53:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T02:23:15","slug":"tennis-sa-appoints-new-chief-executive-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2019\/11\/06\/tennis-sa-appoints-new-chief-executive-officer","title":{"rendered":"Tennis SA appoints new Chief Executive Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well known South Australian financial services executive, <strong>Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> is set to join <strong>Tennis SA<\/strong> as <strong>Chief Executive Officer<\/strong> and <strong>Adelaide International General Manager.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sterrey has\u00a0held National and executive roles in the financial services industry for over 30 years, including roles at ANZ Bank, ING Group, Adelaide Bank and more recently, as General Manager, Business Development at Statewide Super. Sterrey has also held a number of Board positions, including Tennis SA for the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>A keen tennis player, Sterrey was a state representative in her teenage years before playing in pennant sides for Glenelg and Northern Districts Tennis Associations. Recognising a passion for passing skills on to others, Sterrey also embarked on a 10 year coaching journey with Roselands Tennis Complex and Seacombe Heights Tennis Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to be able to appoint a person with Debbie\u2019s impeccable corporate leadership experience and extensive tennis playing and coaching background to the role,&#8221;\u00a0Tennis SA President <strong>Kent Thiele<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Tennis SA Board and Tennis Australia formed a joint selection panel who conducted a thorough internal and external recruitment process through Tennis Australia Talent Acquisition and we\u00a0were very impressed with the quality of candidates.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an exciting time in South Australian tennis with the Memorial Drive Centre Court redevelopment and roof coming to a completion and the Adelaide International tournament just around the corner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe Debbie is the right person to lead the next growth phase of tennis in South Australia and take us to another level,\u201d Thiele added.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Sterrey is excited about the opportunity ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe upcoming Adelaide International and redeveloped Memorial Drive Centre Court are both great signs of a bright future for tennis in South Australia.
