South Australian 18-year-old Amber Marshall <\/strong>has joined five other Australians in advancing to the singles main draw after defeating top seed Eri Hozumi<\/strong> (JPN) 6-3 7-6(5).<\/p>\n Fifth seed Asia Muhammad<\/strong> (USA) overcame Isabella Bozicevic<\/strong> (Qld) 6-3 6-3 in the first round of the main draw, with seventh seed Ayano Shimizu<\/strong> (JPN) defeating Taylah Lawless<\/strong> (NSW) 6-1 6-4. Hiroko Kuwata <\/strong>(JPN) and Abbie Myers<\/strong> (NSW) also progressed to the second round.<\/p>\n In the men\u2019s, South Australia\u2019s Luke Saville<\/strong> and Alex Bolt<\/strong> made their way through their first matches with straight sets victories.
