The strategy aims to develop the best possible venues, while supporting participation, sustainability and growth through a network of welcoming tennis venues and providers.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA General Manager \u2013 Venues and Government Relations,\u00a0<strong>Brett Hidson<\/strong>\u00a0described the strategy that will ensure there are venues to benefit tennis and the wider community for many years to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strategy will enable efficient use of our resources to deliver more venues that cater for modern demand and expectation for playing tennis,\u201d Hidson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the coming months, Tennis SA staff will be conducting facility audits at each club and association around the state. These audits will help to gain more accurate data and knowledge of facilities around the state and will also form the basis for creating a manageable timeline for tennis facility projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Places to Play Strategic Plan will assist all levels of Government and other key stakeholders to work collaboratively and clearly communicate on proven and innovative actions, underpinned by four key priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Locate and improve the quality of existing facilities<\/li>\n<li>Enhance our relationship with government and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate spread of quality venues across the state<\/li>\n<li>Plan for, and develop, new facilities in major growth areas, schools and community spaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Local Government Associations are encouraged to complete the Priority Tennis Projects 2019\/20 Survey that will assist to determine areas of immediate need.<\/p>\n<p>Moving forward, as each project is unique and fluid, we encourage clubs and associations investigating facility development options to engage with their Tennis SA and local Council representatives.
