This year\u2019s theme is <strong>\u2018Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let\u2019s work together for a shared future\u2019<\/strong> acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australia\u2019s democracy.<\/p>\n<p>NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis Australia in conjunction with its Member Associations want to continue to provide more accessibility and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to participate and engage in tennis through educating clubs and coaches, enhancing talent identification, providing pathway opportunities, creating more playing opportunities through community events and tournaments and providing funding for Indigenous tennis programs, equipment and coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis Australia is committed to increasing opportunities and accessibility to tennis for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engagement with Indigenous communities<\/li>\n<li>Educating clubs and coaches<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing talent identification<\/li>\n<li>Providing pathway opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Providing funding for Indigenous tennis programs and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Creating playing opportunities through community events and tournaments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In line with this, the second National Indigenous Tennis Carnival 2019 will be held in Darwin from 29 August 2019 to 1 September 2019.
