Former world No.46 Danka Kovinic (MNE) is set to headline the women\u2019s field at the City of Playford Tennis International, <\/strong>taking place at the Playford City Tennis Centre from 31 December 2018 to 6 January 2019.<\/p>\n

Kovinic reached a career high ranking in February 2016. She has been a runner up in two WTA singles finals and won a WTA doubles title in Austria in 2015. Kovinic is a nine time ITF singles champion and holds three ITF doubles titles.<\/p>\n

Joining Kovinic will be Japan\u2019s Kurumi Nara. <\/strong>Nara reached a career high ranking of 32 in 2014, following her winning the WTA singles title at the Rio Open in Brazil. Nara holds five ITF singles and three ITF doubles titles.<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s 19-year-old Seone Mendez <\/strong>(NSW) will also join the field that includes 13 players from inside the world\u2019s top 200.<\/p>\n

The 22 direct acceptances will be joined by four wildcards and six qualifiers, with matches beginning on Monday 31 December.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to announce an incredibly strong women\u2019s field for the City of Playford Tennis International,\u201d said Tennis SA CEO Steven Baldas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to welcoming the players to South Australia over the next week and we are excited for matches to begin on 31 December,\u201d Baldas added.<\/p>\n
