{"id":16523,"date":"2018-12-13T16:48:14","date_gmt":"2018-12-13T06:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=16523"},"modified":"2018-12-13T16:48:14","modified_gmt":"2018-12-13T06:18:14","slug":"10-u-green-ball-state-league-finals-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2018\/12\/13\/10-u-green-ball-state-league-finals-report","title":{"rendered":"10\/U Green Ball State League Finals Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday 7\u00a0December saw the finals of the 10\/U Green Ball State League competition with the Boys playing at Peake Gardens Tennis Club and the girls playing at Tennis World Millswood.<\/p>\n<p>The finals format involved all teams who played off for their final placing at the one venue to create atmosphere and allowed for presentations after the matches.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys competition top of the table O\u2019Halloran Hill played against second on the table Pembroke. Both teams were going into the Grand Final only losing one match and were the standout teams during the Term 4 season. Pembroke were in fine form starting off with winning both singles. Ari Lewis-Kelly and Zephram Cochrane won convincingly 9-1 and 7-1 respectively. Pembroke didn\u2019t stop there winning the doubles and both reverse singles to seal the win for Pembroke and win the first even Green Ball State League Boys premiership.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls competition an undefeated Seacliff played off against Collingrove in the girls grand final. It was a close encounter in the singles with Seacliff\u2019s Isabella Yang and Nanami Ottewill drawing level at 4-4 making it a dead rubber. In the second singles Seacliff\u2019s Christina Bennett was too strong for Katiya Glavas winning a close singles 6-4. Seacliff were able to take out the doubles 7-4 and give themselves a 2 rubbers to 0 lead going into the final reverse singles. Isabella Yang from Seacliff sealed the win with a very close 6-5 win. Congratulations to Seacliff who stayed undefeated through the whole season and were well deserved Premiers.<\/p>\n<p>Well done to all teams that participated in the very first 10\/U Green Ball State League, it was a major success and a big positive seeing so many participants back playing on the appropriate green ball with kids their own age and similar ability.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA will be running a Term 1 program, please see details below.
