Pembrokes Captain Juliette Robinson won against Heidi Evans winning in three sets. Denman’s Julia Scott won at number two in straight sets against Chiara Ninnis. After the singles being split at two all it was Denman’s double combinations that were the determining factor winning both respective doubles handing Denman a four rubbers to two win victory.

The Drive continued its fine form when they came up against bottom placed Glenlea not allowing a player to win a rubber despite Olivia Ley who pushed Melanie Clayton to a third set. The Drive have only been defeated once this season.

Seasides Tully Richter stepped up when she filled Natasha Russell’s position when she overcame Yasmin Glazbrook at number one in straight sets. Kingwoods Tiana Glazbrook led the way for Kingswood after defeating Sacha Rankin in three sets. Seaside were unable to counter punch as Kingswood went on to win the remainder of rubbers despite both doubles going to a deciding set.

In the Mens competition, Broadview currently sit in fourth place with Collingrove and The Drive hot on their tail. Broadview continued to keep the small gap on their rivals when they defeated top of table Glenlea. Broadview’s Mislav Bosnjak defeated Jack Schipanski in straight sets while Asykal Azhar followed in similar fashion. Glenlea tied things up when Stefan Bianchet and Sam May won in straight sets. Both doubles were evenly matched with top doubles going to Broadview and the bottom doubles going to Glenlea. It was Broadview who got over the line by two games to keep them in the top four.

Collingrove hosted Golden Grove at home in a match that was expected to be close as Golden Grove’s position on the ladder can be deceiving. Golden Grove’s Eddie Vo came up against Sam Holland-Smith, Vo was the better player on the day winning in straight sets, unfortunately for Golden Grove this was then followed by a dominant display of tennis by Collingrove’s players Paddy Douglas, Terry Karahalios and Declan Laginestra defeating their opponents in straight sets. Golden Grove’s Vo and Scott Pearce battled it out winning top doubles to put their team back in the race. In the end Collingrove’s bottom pairing in the doubles were too strong defeating Golden Grove handing them a four rubbers to two win.

Kingswood’s Number one Sam Sanderson took charge when defeating Stefan Norodom in straight sets, which was then followed by number two Sam Gericke defeating Patrick Luke. The Drive’s Kiichi Ishida brought The Drive back into the match when defeating Todd McLean in straight sets while Zac Mizgalski came out strong against The Drives Theodore Karahalios winning the first set but then lost the next two sets. Mizgalski winning the first set weighted heavily in the outcome with both teams winning a double each in straight sets which resulted in Kingswood winning the match by one set.

Trinity Titans had an impressive win over Tea Tree Gully five rubbers to one. Tea Tree Gully’s number one Lawrence Bataljin got his team off to a good start with a straight sets win over Andrew Tavella. Trinity Gardens hit back with a strong win by Callum Gale at second single where he had a comfortable victory over Tyson Devine. Tea Tree Gully did not hit the board following the first single with The Drive taking out straight set wins in the remaining rubbers.

#StatewideSuper #TSAStateLeague

> Full Results

> State League website

Phantom Tipsters prediction for Round 9 Winners

State League Men

Statewide Super

State League Women

Glenlea

Broadview

Golden Grove

Collingrove

Kingswood

The Drive

Seaside

In the Statewide Super Women’s competition, Denman continued to close the gap on the top four sides.
