{"id":15108,"date":"2018-05-23T16:05:13","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T06:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=15108"},"modified":"2018-05-23T16:05:44","modified_gmt":"2018-05-23T06:35:44","slug":"dr-alice-clark-and-debbie-sterrey-join-tennis-sa-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2018\/05\/23\/dr-alice-clark-and-debbie-sterrey-join-tennis-sa-board","title":{"rendered":"Dr Alice Clark and Debbie Sterrey join Tennis SA Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis SA has elected two new female directors to the Board. <strong>Dr Alice Clark <\/strong>and <strong>Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> were elected to the positions on Monday night and will officially join the Tennis SA Board on 1 July 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to accept this position on the Tennis SA Board,\u201d said Dr Clark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am looking forward to getting involved and working with the Tennis SA Board, staff, associations and clubs to continue to move the sport in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really excited to accept this position on the Tennis SA Board,\u201d said Ms Sterrey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been involved in tennis in a variety of roles and I am looking forward to being able to give back to the sport that has given me so much joy in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The addition of Clark and Sterrey brings the Tennis SA Board in line with the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing\u2019s aspirations that state sporting organisation boards include a minimum of 40 per cent women and 40 per cent men, with the remaining 20 per cent to be discretionary.<\/p>\n<p>Monday night also saw Tennis SA Board Director of 18 years, <strong>Neville Messenger, <\/strong>re-elected, while outgoing Board Director <strong>Rick Baldock<\/strong> was thanked for his 14 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>During his time on the Tennis SA Board, Baldock was the Chairperson of the Ken McGregor Foundation and served on a number of committees, including Player Development and Participation.<\/p>\n<p>Baldock has also been an integral part of the Australian Hardcourt Championships, Rio Tennis International and Davis Cup events for over 22 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRick has made an outstanding contribution to tennis in South Australia,\u201d said Tennis SA CEO <strong>Steven Baldas. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRick\u2019s commitment as a player, volunteer and administrator, as well as his experience in the education sector, has made him a fantastic member of the Tennis SA Board,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to congratulate Alice, Debbie and Neville and look forward to working with the new Tennis SA Board moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Tennis SA Board now comprises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mr Kent Thiele, <\/strong>President<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr Philip Roberts, <\/strong>Vice President<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr Alice Clark <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr Neville Guthberlet <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr John MacKenzie <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr Neville Messenger<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ms Natalie Morley<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mrs Kerry Morrow <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mr Graeme Smart<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ms Debbie Sterrey<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis SA has elected two new female directors to the Board.
