{"id":14860,"date":"2018-04-14T20:44:47","date_gmt":"2018-04-14T11:14:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=14860"},"modified":"2018-04-14T20:49:29","modified_gmt":"2018-04-14T11:19:29","slug":"day-6-2018-12-u-and-14-u-australian-grasscourt-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2018\/04\/14\/day-6-2018-12-u-and-14-u-australian-grasscourt-championships","title":{"rendered":"Day 6 &#8211; 2018 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Grasscourt Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Adelaide brought the most miserable weather for the final day of the 2018 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Grasscourt Championships, but the singles champions have been crowned!<\/p>\n<p>In the all-South Aussie 14-and-under boys final, [4]\u00a0<strong>Edward Winter<\/strong>\u00a0took the first set comfortably six games to two against [2] <strong>Edward Vo,<\/strong> but Vo then steadied the ship to take the second set six games to three. The match was tight, but we never could have predicted what would happen next. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as both players were forced to save multiple match points, before Vo took the final point to win the tiebreak 18-16 and claim the 14-and-under boys\u2019 championship.<\/p>\n<p>Top seed\u00a0<strong>Taylah Lawless<\/strong>\u00a0(NSW) had a relatively straightforward victory over seventh seed\u00a0<strong>Jessica-Jade Haylo<\/strong>\u00a0(Qld) 6-1 6-1 to claim the 14-and-under girls\u2019 title, while [1] <strong>Sarah Rokusek<\/strong> (NSW) found herself in an epic battle against <strong>Baihe (Lily) Lin<\/strong> (NSW) before she won the\u00a012-and-under girls\u2019 championship, 5-7 7-5 [10-5].<\/p>\n<p>The 12-and-under boys was another tight encounter. Second seed\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Zhang<\/strong>\u00a0(NSW) took the first set 6-2, before top seed\u00a0<strong>Mudiwa Munyimani<\/strong>\u00a0(Vic) came back to take the second set 6-4.
