The City of Holdfast Bay has transformed a former half court tennis court in a community park into a brand new ANZ Tennis Hot Shots court.<\/p>\n
The court at Wattle Reserve, Esplanade, Hove, has provided the park with a bright, new focus point that is literally turning heads.<\/p>\n
With a $5000 contribution through the National Court Rebate and technical review by Tennis SA, the City of Holdfast Bay commissioned the work through a tender process. TED Contractors were appointed and completed the project in just a week.<\/p>\n
The previous half court was scheduled to receive repairs and a resurface as part of the Council\u2019s Asset Management budget, but the opportunity to produce a court that meets current Tennis SA initiatives and standards was seen as important to the council.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe courts were in need of an overhaul and were earmarked for maintenance prior to this upgrade, but through cooperation between Council and Tennis SA we\u2019ve been able to provide the fantastic new playing surface for our residents and visitors to Holdfast Bay\u201d, said Paul Eustace, Buildings & Facilities Technical Officer at the City of Holdfast Bay.<\/p>\n
Wattle Reserve also hosts BBQ and picnic facilities, a fenced playground, shelters and toilets for community use.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cTennis SA is delighted to support the upgrade of the court to become a genuine Australian Open two-tone blue ANZ Tennis Hot Shots court,\u201d said Brett Hidson, General Manager \u2013 Venues and Government Relations at Tennis SA.<\/p>\n \u201cKids and their parents can now play by the beach on the same standard of court as their heroes.
