In a major coup for the Riverland region, Renmark Tennis Club, in conjunction with the Riverland Tennis Association, Tennis SA and Tennis Australia will host South Australia\u2019s latest edition to the Australian Pro Tour calendar from Saturday 24 February to Sunday 4 March 2018.<\/p>\n
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures-level men\u2019s event looks set to attract a strong field of Australian and international players to compete for USD$25,000 in prize money.<\/p>\n
The event is expected to attract players ranked inside the top 200 in the world and will feature a number of players who will be competing in the Australian Open in January.<\/p>\n
Riverland Tennis Association President, John Pick, was thrilled to make the announcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to see an event of this level being held in the Riverland.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese events provide a great opportunity for locals to see world class tennis in their region. The Australian Pro Tour has seen some great Australian and International players competing, with Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios amongst the most recent.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTennis SA is excited to welcome the USD$25,000 ITF Futures-level event to South Australia\u2019s summer of tennis,\u201d said Tennis SA CEO Steven Baldas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ability to host an event of this level is testament to the club and their commitment to deliver an international event as well as the high standard of the natural grass surface of the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n
The field for the tournament will be announced early next year.<\/p>\n
