{"id":12903,"date":"2017-06-23T16:01:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T06:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=12903"},"modified":"2017-06-23T16:01:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T06:31:42","slug":"state-budget-supports-court-resurfacing-and-women-in-sport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2017\/06\/23\/state-budget-supports-court-resurfacing-and-women-in-sport","title":{"rendered":"State Budget supports court resurfacing and women in sport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017-18 State Budget has just released major funding packages that will provide a significant boost to grassroots sporting clubs and participation in sport for South Australians.<\/p>\n<p>A major <a href=\"http:\/\/servicesa.cdn.on.net\/budget201718\/pdfs\/media-releases\/sport_rec-20_million_dollars_for_synthetic_pitches_at_sporting_clubs.pdf\">$20 million grant funding initiative<\/a> will help sporting clubs <strong>establish or replace playing surfaces<\/strong>, as part of a drive to increase participation in grassroots sports. The funding will be made available over two years and will assist sports using different surfaces including hardcourt surfaces, such as basketball, volleyball, netball and tennis.<\/p>\n<p>Plus a major<a href=\"http:\/\/servicesa.cdn.on.net\/budget201718\/pdfs\/media-releases\/sport_rec-19.5_million_dollar_boost_for_elite_athletes_and_women_in_sport.pdf\"> funding package of $19.5 million<\/a> has been announced to increase women\u2019s participation in sport and support South Australia\u2019s Olympic athletes. In particular the <strong>Female Facilities Fund,<\/strong> which will gain an additional $14 million over two years to continue the Government\u2019s support for sport and recreation organisations implementing projects to address the barriers to female participation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a fantastic result for tennis in South Australia and will go a long way to achieve important tennis club upgrades as well as driving greater female participation in our sport\u201d said Tennis SA CEO,<strong> Steve Baldas.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017-18 State Budget has just released major funding packages that will provide a significant boost to grassroots sporting clubs and participation in sport for South Australians.
