Preparations are in full swing for this week\u2019s 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Grasscourt Championships<\/strong> being held for the first time in Berri.<\/p>\n

Tennis SA and Tennis Australia, in conjunction with Berri-View Lawn Tennis Club, will host the championships from Saturday 8 April to Thursday 13 April 2017.<\/p>\n

The tournament is one of only three national junior championship events and gives the top 32 players in each age group from around the country the opportunity to play for a national title and valuable Australian ranking points.<\/p>\n

South Australia is set to field an impressive list of participants in the event, with 14 players accepting direct entry into their respective main draws and an additional eight players to join the lists as wildcards.<\/p>\n

The local contingent will be led by reigning national champions Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz <\/strong>(Glengowrie, SA) and Edward Vo <\/strong>(Croydon Park, SA), both in the 14-and-under events. Meanwhile, Andrea Kristo<\/strong> (Northgate, SA) and Edward Winter<\/strong> (Glenelg, SA) will lead South Australia in the 12-and-under competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cTennis SA is delighted to be fielding such a strong list of participants for the 12-and-under and 14-and-under Australian Grasscourt Championships,\u201d said Steve Baldas<\/strong>, Tennis SA CEO.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had some outstanding results at a national level over the past 12 months and we wish all participants the very best of luck.\u201d<\/p>\n
