{"id":12639,"date":"2017-03-31T15:22:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T04:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=12639"},"modified":"2017-03-31T15:42:21","modified_gmt":"2017-03-31T05:12:21","slug":"australian-grasscourt-championships-set-to-hit-berri-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2017\/03\/31\/australian-grasscourt-championships-set-to-hit-berri-next-week","title":{"rendered":"Australian Grasscourt Championships set to hit Berri next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Berri, SA is set to play host to the 12\/u and 14\/u<strong> Australian Grasscourt Championships<\/strong> for the first time\u00a0next week.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA and Tennis Australia, in conjunction with Berri-View Lawn Tennis Club, will host the championships from Saturday 8 April to Thursday 13 April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament is one of only three national junior championship events in Australia and gives the top 32 players in each age group from around Australia the opportunity to play for the national title and valuable Australian ranking points.<\/p>\n<p>Home to two current national champions in <strong>Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz <\/strong>(Glengowrie, SA) and <strong>Edward Vo <\/strong>(Croydon Park, SA), South Australia will be looking to once again field an impressive list of participants in the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTennis SA is delighted to have once again been selected as the host state for the 12-and-under and 14-and-under Australian Grasscourt Championships,\u201d said <strong>Steve Baldas<\/strong>, Tennis SA CEO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event marks the second time South Australia has held an event of this kind and we look forward to some great tennis\u00a0next week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTennis Australia is pleased to be bringing the Australian Grasscourt Championships to South Australia,\u201d added <strong>Francis Soyer<\/strong>, Tennis Australia Tournaments Development Manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tournament provides a fantastic opportunity for locals to watch some of Australia\u2019s up-and-coming junior players and we wish all players the best of luck.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Berri, SA is set to play host to the 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Grasscourt Championships for the first time\u00a0next week.
