{"id":12572,"date":"2017-03-22T11:45:25","date_gmt":"2017-03-22T01:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=12572"},"modified":"2017-03-22T11:48:10","modified_gmt":"2017-03-22T01:18:10","slug":"winter-anz-tennis-hot-shots-orange-ball-match-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2017\/03\/22\/winter-anz-tennis-hot-shots-orange-ball-match-play","title":{"rendered":"Winter ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Orange Ball Match Play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the great success and positive feedback in regards to the Term 1 ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Orange Ball Leagues\u00a0run in Glenelg Districts and Western Districts, Tennis SA are excited to be continuing these two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/players\/children-10u\/anz-tennis-hot-shots-2\/anz-tennis-hot-shots-leagues\" target=\"_blank\">ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Orange Ball Match Play <\/a>(formerly Orange Ball Leagues) comps throughout 2017 winter\u00a0season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Season structure<\/strong><br \/>\nMatches will take place Saturday mornings at 10:30am throughout Term 2 and 3 with Western Districts commencing on May 6 and Glenelg Districts commencing on May 13. First round matches will be at a centralised location (venue TBC) to allow for a 10 minute parent information session prior to the beginning of matches.<\/p>\n<p>Both competitions will run for 16 weeks with neither playing June 10th (long weekend), July 15th nor July 22nd (school holidays). Western District\u2019s league will conclude on Saturday September 9 and Glenelg Districts finishing up September 16.<\/p>\n<p>Final rounds for both will take place, again, at a centralised location (venue TBC) to create a carnival atmosphere and allow for presentations to take place. A home and away fixture will be utilised for all other rounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team and match formats<\/strong><br \/>\nTeams will consist of two players each week with each player playing two singles match and one doubles matches per week. Each rubber will be one set first to 4 games. The beauty of this is it ensures each player is always playing as well as all matches being completed within a 90 minute time frame.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Court set up and balls<\/strong><br \/>\nAll matches will be played using orange balls and courts will be set out using Orange Ball guidelines.
