Australian teenagers Destanee Aiava and Sara Tomic have both moved through to the second round of the Honeycomb.Design Clare Valley Tennis International<\/a>. Eighth seeded Aiava progressed after a tough two set match against Brit Katy Dunne winning 6-3 7-5 in around 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

Tomic also had to battle hard when she played wildcard Gabriella Da Silva Fick on Centre Court. After winning the first set 6-4 the second set was a super tight contest with Tomic eventually taking the match 6-4 7-6 (4).<\/p>\n

In an all Aussie battle, Storm Sanders came out ahead of qualifier Abbie Myers in impressive fashion, winning the match 6-3 6-4. Alison Bai made it four Australians into the last 16 with a strong 6-3 6-3 win over Brit Gabriella Taylor.<\/p>\n

Second seed Eri Hozumi from Japan and seventh seeded Czech Vikotrija Kozmova also had impressive wins to move them into the second round.<\/p>\n

Today’s\u00a0feature matches will see Brazillian number one seed Beatriz Haddad-Maia take on Sara Tomic first up on Centre Court while Storm Sanders will take on Viktorija Kozmova and Destinee Aiava will be up against Japans Haruka Kaji.<\/p>\n
