{"id":22612,"date":"2021-04-13T13:51:50","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T04:21:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?page_id=22612"},"modified":"2025-04-29T05:15:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T19:45:54","slug":"gdta-orange-ball-match-play","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/competitions\/winter-competitions\/gdta-orange-ball-match-play","title":{"rendered":"GDTA Orange Ball Association Match Play"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>League details<\/h1>\n<h5><strong>Season dates 2025, times and venue;<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Key Info\n<ul>\n<li>Nominations Open: 20 March<\/li>\n<li>Nominations Close: 7 April<\/li>\n<li>Start Date: 3 May<\/li>\n<li>Byes: Saturday 7 June, 12 July, 19 July<\/li>\n<li>Final Round: Saturday, 6 September<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Matches will be played using a home and away fixture, no finals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Team make up and match formats<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Teams will be made up of\u00a0<strong><u>three players<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0each week<\/li>\n<li>Each player will play one singles match and two doubles matches each week<\/li>\n<li>Each round will be a first to 4 game set \u2013 no advantage, no tiebreak<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Court set up and balls<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>All matches will be played using Orange Balls<\/li>\n<li>Courts will be set up to modify the size of the court as per Orange Ball guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Each club is required to set up courts using drop down lines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Requirement of clubs<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up courts<\/li>\n<li>Ensure scores are entered on League Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Support from parents<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Parents are asked to attend each match and support with court set up, on court scoring and score entry through League Manager<\/li>\n<li>Each team is required to have one appointed Team Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Other Cost and value<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Cost for a team entry into GDTA Tennis Hot Shots Match Play is;\n<ul>\n<li>Winter Fee \u2013 $40 per team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Team Nomination\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>A Tennis Club affiliated with Tennis SA may nominate a team to compete within the GDTA Orange Ball Competition<\/li>\n<li>Nominations shall be submitted online via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leaguemanager.tennis.com.au\/#\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">League Manager<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The Nomination will require a nominating club to name in Order of Merit the players which it proposes to play in its team<\/li>\n<li>Players nominated will be required to register and activate their own Universal Tennis Rating (UTR)<\/li>\n<li>Clubs can no longer create a profile.
