Member Protection Policy<\/td>\nThe policy has been developed as part of Tennis Australia\u2019s ongoing commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of its members and participants. Member Protection is all about practices and procedures, which protect a sports organisation\u2019s members including athletes, administrators, coaches and officials.<\/p>\n

Tennis Australia Anti-Doping Policy<\/td>\n\u00a0In 2004 at the French Open, the\u00a0International Tennis Federation (ITF) launched an anti-doping campaign in association with the Grand Slams.\u00a0The purpose of the campaign\u00a0was to warn the elite players of the dangers associated with the consumption of dietary supplements. Code of Behaviour<\/td>\nThe new Code of behaviour replaces the \u2018Events Disciplinary Policy\u2019 that regulates behaviour breaches related to and during tournaments and weekly competitions in Australia. We are committed to protecting the integrity of tennis and ensuring we provide a healthy and positive environment for players to compete in. Safeguarding Children Guidelines<\/td>\nTennis Australia (TA) and all Australian Tennis Organisations (ATOs) aim to provide children with a positive tennis experience and environment that promotes their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.<\/p>\n

We expect you to adhere to the highest possible standards with respect to safeguarding children from abuse.<\/p>\n

TA has developed these guidelines<\/a> to identify and prevent behaviour which might be harmful to the children in our care.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Extreme Weather Policy<\/td>\nThe policy is designed to protect competitive tennis players from injury and illness that may result by playing tennis in extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Social Media Policy<\/td>\nTennis Australia encourages the use of Social Media and recognises and\u00a0appreciates the value of Social Media as a tool for the Australian tennis community to\u00a0engage, communicate, learn, share and drive innovation. As Social Media is shared in the\u00a0public realm, it is vital that the valuable public reputation of TA, Australian Tennis\u00a0Organisations (ATO\u2019s), sponsors and other TA stakeholders is protected.<\/p>\n

Good Sports<\/td>\nGood Sports<\/a> is a national initiative of the Australian Drug Foundation, it has been developed to help sporting clubs responsibly manage the sale and consumption of alcohol. In South Australia, the Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia<\/a> will implement the program.The program aims to assist clubs provide a safe and responsible environment for players, members, families and supporters. It is not about banning alcohol sales or consumption but enhancing the important role clubs have in the community.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Harassment Free Sport<\/td>\nEvery participant in sport, regardless of the role, has a right to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness, and to participate in an environment that is enjoyable and safe. Harassment, abuse and other forms of inappropriate behaviour in sport deny participants these rights.<\/p>\n

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has developed a harassment free sport strategy<\/a> to assist the sports industry address discrimination, abuse and other inappropriate behaviours by helping sports to create safe, respectful and harassment-free sport environments. Working with Children<\/td>\n(1) Between 1 July 2012 and 31 December 2012 all new and existing volunteers working with children aged 7 or under must have a criminal history assessment done. (2) Between 1 January 2013 and 30 June 2013 all new and existing volunteers working with children aged less than 12 years or under must have a criminal history assessment done. (3) Between 1 July 2013 the same assessment is required for new and existing volunteers working with children aged 17 years or under.\u00a0The details are to be found at www.decd.sa.gov.au\/child-protection\/child-safe-environments<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
