Junior Competition Winter 2020 Cancelled due to COVID-19

As we are all aware, current State Government COVID-19 restrictions were  relaxed from Monday 22 June to allow community competition to resume for non-contact sports including Tennis.
However, since that time, Victoria has suffered a steady increase of COVID-19 cases.   This alarming trend has today been followed up by an announcement from State Premier, Dan Andrews that 35+ suburbs will commence “lockdown”.
Given the above circumstances, and much deliberation and thought by all of our duly elected Committee members, we have had the following decision :
The upcoming WINTER 2020 competition seasons for both our JUNIOR and SENIOR COMPETITIONS (inter-club) will now be CANCELLED.     The health and welfare of our players and families is paramount.
We believe this decision is in the best interests of all our Clubs, players, parents etc and we trust that all our stakeholders understand our reasons for making this decision.
We certainly want to see Tennis come back.   Looking forward, a positive from this decision, would be to recommend to all our Clubs that they undertake a “SOCIAL” focus as it provides a safe outlet to play.  Coaching is up and running and there may be opportunities for social coaching activities – such as Cardio and other similar activity programs.
In regards to the MID-WEEK LADIES competition, the season will NOT commence on July 14 and further communication will follow shortly.
If you do have any queries or questions concerning any of the above, I would be more than happy to discuss any issues with you.
