Queensland Tennis Academy staff and players served up smiles and some fun for patients and families at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

A section of the hospital foyer was converted into a Hotshots court for patients to rally with professional players and get some tips from Academy coaches. The players also toured the wards to hand out gifts for patients unable to take part in the clinic.

The visit was organised as part of the Academy’s Wellbeing program (GIVE) which promotes and instills an ethos of “giving back” to the community amongst players and staff.

The visit was so successful, regular tennis clinics are now being planned at the hospital.
