Although the Bowen Junior Development Series tournament got off to a shaky start on Saturday, June 2nd with a few rain delays, the sky soon cleared, eventuating in a fantastic weekend for everyone involved.
Congratulations to Niamh Hall and Jack Ross, winners of the Good Sport Awards at the Bowen JDS.
Alongside the JDS tournament, an MLC Tennis Hot Shots Challenge was held on Saturday afternoon, involving children between 5 and 10 years of age. A big thank you goes to those juniors involved in the tournament, who helped out the little kids in between their JDS tournament matches!
For some of the Hot Shots kids, this was their first introduction to competition tennis. Hopefully one day we will see some of them playing JDS tournaments also!
