Information on Junior Tennis at the Parkwood Tennis Club

The Parkwood Tennis CLub has an extensive range of Junior Competitions. As an initial introduction to tennis, we have our Friday Night In-House Competition. As the name suggests, this is run on a Friday Night at Parkwood Tennis Club. It is graded into A and B groups, each section playing on alternate weeks, with the children playing two sets of doubles and a set of singles each fortnight. Parents are rostered to help out each fortnight and the setting is very informal to allow the children to learn court etiquette, scoring, etc in a supportive and non-threatening situation, whilst still allowing them to practice their skills in a real tennis game.

We also compete in Eastern Region Competitions on Saturday and Sunday mornings, where children, as members of our tennis club, play home and away matches in a more formal situation.

At present we have approximately 100 children playing our Friday Night Competition and about 150 children playing in Eastern Region Competition.

We are keen to build on the amount of teams we enter per season so if anyone is interested in playing please contact the junior convenor.
