Club Redevelopment Update

07 November 2018 |
Our courts will begin to see some changes as the OGTC committee start to implement the master plan for our Clubrooms.

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, is the updating of the court lights. The current lighting option is expensive, inefficient and present a danger in high winds due to their hefty weight.

The installation of LED lights are earmarked to be implemented prior to this Christmas. These are lighter, more energy efficient and require little if no maintenance at all.

Some disruption will occur to training and squad, however this is to be minimal with the installation team working on 2 courts at a time.

Installation should take no more than 1 week.

Other news

New stairs and ramp
New stair access and wheelchair ramp from Asbury Street will be installed prior to Christmas. Access to the courts will be interrupted but again, this will be kept to a minimum whilst the works are undertaken.

Book-A-Court system
The Committee are excited about the development of a Book-A-Court system to be installed over the coming months. This is an online system to manage court bookings particularly useful over the holiday period.  This system should be in place by the end of November.

Clubroom Master Plan information session
The OGTC Committee invites all current and past members to their Clubroom Master Plan information session on Friday 9 November from 6.30pm – 8pm.Bar will be open with snacks available. The evening is a good chance to find out about the planned redevelopment of the Clubrooms and how the state government sports grant will contribute to a remarkable sporting facility for Ocean Grove and the wider Bellarine Peninsula.

Exciting times lie ahead for our Clubrooms and we appreciate your patience and support during this period of redevelopment.
