Ocean Grove Tennis Club Inc

Safeguarding Children Policy

17 September 2017 |

The Club’s Statement of committent to ensuring a Child Safe environment for all of our Junior players and children associated with the Club is available for all members to read.

It is important all adult members are aware of the Club’s committent to ensuring children are safe and protected from harm when undertaking ANY activity for or on behalf of the Ocean Grove Tennis Club. Every adult has a legal obligation to ensure they meet the legal requirements of engaging in Child Related activities, while also ensuring you are aware of the reporting obligations that now exist in society regarding the safety and protection of children.

PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS (Working with Children).

In line with the legislation,  OGTC is enforcing  a mandatory requirement for adults engaged with the Junior Competition and Players to obtain a Working With Children Check Card (Volunteer), or updating your existing card with the Club details.

You can apply for a WWCC or check your current WWCC online: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

In addition,  all non-playing Parents and Volunteers involved with the Junior Section are asked to register as a Friend of the Ocean Grove Tennis Club member. This will allow the club to track adults who are engaged with the Club, and to assist in the coordinating of working with children checks for the Club.
