{"id":6564,"date":"2018-04-13T16:38:06","date_gmt":"2018-04-13T07:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nt\/?p=6564"},"modified":"2018-04-13T16:38:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-13T07:08:41","slug":"mark-motlop-and-anya-lorimer-join-tennis-nt-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nt\/news\/2018\/04\/13\/mark-motlop-and-anya-lorimer-join-tennis-nt-board","title":{"rendered":"Mark Motlop and Anya Lorimer join Tennis NT Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mark Motlop<\/strong> and <strong>Anya Lorimer<\/strong>\u00a0have been appointed as Directors to the <strong>Tennis NT<\/strong> Board.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Motlop, a name synonymous with Australian sport, is a well-respected Indigenous figure who joins Tennis NT with a strong sporting background and passion for Indigenous affairs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He has previously held roles with the <strong>NT Government Department of Business<\/strong>, the<strong> Northern Territory Indigenous Affairs Advisory council<\/strong>, <strong>AFL NT<\/strong>, <strong>YWCA <\/strong>and the<strong> Juvenile Justice Diversionary Program <\/strong>and currently holds the position of <strong>Chairman<\/strong> of the <strong>Larrakia Development Corporation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working with the Tennis NT team and helping to further grow their Indigenous tennis program,\u201d Motlop said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Territory has a proud sporting history and I\u2019m eager to help broaden the engagement of tennis &#8211; one of the most inclusive and diverse sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lorimer, a leading local businesswoman brings with her a wealth of knowledge as the sole director of <strong>Sprout Creative<\/strong>, the NT\u2019s largest creative design agency, and more than 21 years of industry experience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honoured to be appointed as a Director to the Tennis NT Board,\u201d Lorimer said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new development at the Marrara sporting complex is a huge positive for tennis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSport in the NT is expanding and it\u2019s a great time for tennis to capitalise on this growth to help build participation and expand the game so many people can continue to love and play the game at all levels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working with the local team to help promote and engage the wider NT community with tennis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tennis NT CEO <strong>Sam Gibson<\/strong> believes the appointment of Mark and Anya will bring a fresh outlook.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTennis in the NT is currently undergoing some big changes and 2018 is a very exciting year for us,\u201d Gibson said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTennis NT are thrilled to welcome Mark and Anya and their expertise, especially during this growth period.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Tennis NT board now consists of seven members who all bring a vast range of skills and experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TENNIS NT BOARD OF DIRECTORS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President &#8211;
