The final minor round of the\u00a0Junior Tennis League<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0once again saw some close\u00a0FAST4<\/em>\u00a0action\u00a0between\u00a0the four teams.<\/p>\n

After sitting at the bottom of the ladder for most of the competition the Barra’s have come from nowhere to record their first victory over the Frillie’s, with a closely fought 4 rubbers to 3 win.<\/p>\n

The score was tied after the singles rubbers at 2-all with wins to Liam Franklin<\/span>, Rebecca Rayner<\/span>, Coen Hutt<\/span> and Serena Adams<\/span>. However it was the doubles that secured the win for the Barra\u2019s with the combination of Rayner\/Henderson<\/span> securing their first girls doubles victory 4-1 4-1 over the Murphy\/Adams<\/span> pairing. Rayner<\/span> then backed it up in the mixed doubles with Franklin<\/span> to lock in her third win of the night over O\u2019Donoghue-Ellis<\/span> and Murphy<\/span> 4-3 4-0.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo\u2019s asserted themselves early in their match against the Croc\u2019s taking all four singles rubbers at the loss of just eight games. The Croc\u2019s managed to hold off the whitewash in their respective boy\u2019s and girl\u2019s doubles with both matches being drawn. However, it was Oscar Ferdinands<\/span> and Rosie Henderson<\/span> who sealed the fate of the Croc\u2019s when they secured the team\u2019s fifth rubber over Kenneth Prete<\/span> and Eilis Kruger<\/span> 4-1 4-1.<\/p>\n

Next week\u2019s Grand Final will see the dominate force of the Buffalo\u2019s up against the out of the blue finalists, the Barra\u2019s who slipped past the Frillie\u2019s by just one point to secure second position. While the Croc\u2019s and the Frillie\u2019s will do battle for 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

SHOT OF THE ROUND<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 goes to Coen Hutt<\/span>\u00a0(Frillie’s) for consecutive screaming<\/em> passing shot winners in the Boy’s Doubles against Liam Franklin and Nicholas Carmichael.<\/p>\n
