Round One of the Junior Tennis League<\/em><\/strong><\/span> kicked off last Friday night using the exciting new FAST4<\/em> format.<\/p>\n

The Barra’s <\/span>and the Croc’s <\/span>were locked in a tight struggle from the outset of the match with neither team taking a commanding lead. Liam Franklin<\/span> came away with three wins in his singles, doubles and mixed doubles with four of his six sets going to the all-important tie-break. Lauren Riggall<\/span> also walked away with three wins on the night.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo’s <\/span>took an early lead in the singles with Oscar Ferdinands<\/span> and Rosie Henderson<\/span>. The pair then combined to push there team further in front with a 4-2 4-2 win in the mixed doubles. Kyle O’Donoghue-Ellis<\/span> claimed some ground back for the Frillie’s with his singles and mixed doubles wins with Serena Adams<\/span>, but was unable to clinch the boy’s doubles which ended in a draw.<\/p>\n

SHOT OF THE ROUND<\/strong><\/em> goes to Jaimee Murphy<\/span> (Frillie’s) not once but twice passing Oscar Ferdinands<\/span> (Buffalo’s) down the line in the #01 Mixed Doubles, both winners receiving loud applause from the onlooking supporters! Unfortunately the Frillie’s went down in that match 4-2 4-2.<\/p>\n
