Katherine Tennis Club Manager &#8211; Sam Murch made a success start to his Metro League career winning both his singles and doubles filling in for AWOF Sports. Murch defeated Luke Black 7-6 6-3 and then teamed with Des McLellan for a 7-6 6-2 win over Black and Dave Bridges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AWOF Sports 1 (5-10-68)<\/strong> def Tennis Palmerston 2 (1-2-26)<br \/>\nAWOF Sports welcomed back Lucas Frichot to the Metro League competition, Frichot only dropped nine games on his way to a double victory defeating Ethan Prosser 6-0 6-2 and teaming with Mark Pead for a 6-4 6-3 win in the doubles over Prosser and Jono Grigg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gardens Tennis 1 (4-2-60)<\/strong> def Tennis Palmerston 1 (2-4-38)<br \/>\nTennis Palmerston 1 looked well on their way to an upset after the doubles at one rubber all. Daniel Parker secured the lead with victory in the #1 singles over Harry Lee-Schell 6-0 6-0. However Gardens Tennis 1 fought back with the three remaining singles victories to Naomi Fellows, Ben Scott and Coen Hutt.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows still remains in control of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nt\/competitions\/metro-league\/player-of-the-year\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #0091d2\">People&#8217;s Choice Metro League Player of the Year<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/a>and has extended her lead to 12 points over Andrew Hawke GT2 in second place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nt\/competitions\/metro-league\"><span style=\"color: #e10073\"><em><strong>People&#8217;s Choice Junior League<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gardens Tennis 2 (5-10-47)<\/strong> def AWOF Sports 1 (1-3-26)<br \/>\nSome close matches going the distance with Gardens Tennis 2 coming out on top in the end.
