The Gove Peninsula Tennis Club<\/strong><\/em><\/span> had the honour of hosting the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup<\/strong> (Men’s trophy) and the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup<\/strong> (Women’s trophy) at their recent Presentation Dinner and Black Tie Cocktail Function.<\/p>\n

The 2013 Australian Open winners will take home these exact full-size replica trophies, which have been touring China and Japan for the past month. Tennis Gove was the second stop on a national tour, which will take the trophies\u00a0to all States and Territories before next year’s Australia Open.<\/p>\n

Before then, they took in the sights of the Gove Peninsula<\/strong> including: The Pacific Aluminium Mine, Laynhapuy Aviation, Arrnhem Highway dirt track, Mt Nhulun – Marika lookout, East Woody and the Yacht Club.<\/p>\n
