The People’s Choice Metro League<\/strong><\/span> began last weekend with convincing wins for DTC Sports 2 and Tennis Palmerston.<\/p>\n

\nPeople’s Choice Metro League
\n<\/strong><\/span>In\u00a0the DTC Sports derby it was DTC Sports 2 that dominated from the outset claiming an 8 Rubbers to 1 victory.<\/p>\n

DTC Sports 2 got off to a great start claiming five of the six singles Rubbers. Lucas Frichot the lone winner for DTC Sports 1 with victory in the #5 singles over Tenille Waters 6-1 6-0. However they didn’t have it all their own way in the doubles, with two of the three doubles progressing to the crucial Match Tiebreak.<\/p>\n

People’s Choice Reserve League<\/span><\/strong>
\nDTC Sports 2 reserve team followed in their teammates footsteps with a 4 Rubbers to 2 win over DTC Sports 1.<\/p>\n

DTC Sports 1 claimed the first victory with Natalie Roe and Cooper King defeating Rosie Henderson and Peter Politis in the #1 doubles 6-3 1-6 7-6. Unfortunately they couldn’t keep the momentum going, losing three of the four singles Rubbers.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/span>Tennis Palmerston\u00a0hosted their first People’s Choice Metro League<\/span> match, providing an exciting 7 Rubbers to\u00a02 win over Gardens Tennis.<\/p>\n

The home team was off to a shaky start with Steve Lewis-Driver and Scott Boller (Gardens Tennis)\u00a0claiming the #1 doubles victory over George Shepheard and Carlos Ruiz 6-3 6-3. Tennis Palmerston rallied back to take the remaining two doubles Rubbers along with five of the six singles Rubbers.<\/p>\n

\nAlso following\u00a0in the footsteps of their teammates; Tennis Palmerston dominated Gardens Tennis with a 5 Rubbers to 1 victory.<\/p>\n

Oskar Floeck and Rebecca Rayner held off a late charge\u00a0to claim victory over Gardens Tennis’ Darren and Jacob \u00a06-4 4-6 7-6. Jacob recorded Gardens Tennis’\u00a0lone win with\u00a0victory over Valentina Floeck in the #4 singles\u00a00-6 6-3 7-6.<\/p>\n

The People’s Choice Metro League Player of the Year\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>looks to be a tight race\u00a0with 4 games separating the top three players and DTC Sports 2 having four of the top 5 players!<\/p>\n
