In the second set,\u00a0<strong>Daniel<\/strong>\u00a0came back stronger and was able to turn the match around. After a grueling two-hours on Centre Court, <strong>Daniel\u00a0<\/strong>was able to secure his spot in the finals, defeating <strong>Hijikata<\/strong> 3-6, 6-2, 7-6.<\/p>\n<p>After tweaking his ankle yesterday,<strong> Thanasi Kokkinakis<\/strong>\u00a0(SA) was unable to complete his match today against <strong>Marc Polmans <\/strong>(VIC) and was forced to retire.\u00a0<strong>Polmans<\/strong> will take on <strong>Daniel<\/strong> tomorrow on Centre Court and battle it out for the 2023 NSW Open Singles title.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s final will feature\u00a0<strong>Destanee Aiava<\/strong>\u00a0(VIC) and<strong>\u00a0Astra Sharma<\/strong> (WA). Aiava defeated wildcard, <strong>Maya Joint <\/strong>(AUS) in three sets, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, while Sharma overcame <strong>Hikaru Sato<\/strong> (JPN) in three sets, 6-4,2-6,1-6.<\/p>\n<p>The doubles finals were also played today, with the all-American pairing of <strong>Ryan Seggerman <\/strong>and <strong>Patrik Trhac<\/strong> defeating <strong>Ruben Gonzales<\/strong> (PHL) and<strong> Jisun Nam<\/strong> (KOR).
