Singles quarterfinals have been completed on Day 6 at the NSW Open.<\/b><\/p>\n

Hometown hero and seed number two, Rinky Hijikata<\/strong> (NSW) is enjoying playing at home and making the most of the court time, winning in another three setter against Jisang Nam<\/strong> 6-7, 7-5, 7-6.\u00a0 Marc Polmans<\/strong> had a tight match against\u00a0Blake Mott<\/strong>\u00a0(NSW),<\/strong> winning 6-3 in the third set.\u00a0 Marc will now play against the top seed,\u00a0Thanasi Kokkinakis<\/strong>\u00a0(SA) who over powered Rio Noguchi<\/strong> (JPN), 6-3, 7-6.<\/p>\n

Australia has three female players competing in the semifinals. Astra Sharma<\/strong>\u00a0(WA) fought hard today and has secured a spot in the semifinals after defeating\u00a0 Japanese player, Kyoka Okamura. <\/strong>Aussies, Destanee Aiava\u00a0<\/strong>(VIC)\u00a0and Maya Joint <\/strong>(AUS)\u00a0will also join Sharma in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Aiava<\/strong>\u00a0has a big day ahead of her tomorrow, as she will compete in the semifinals of singles against Joint<\/strong> and then compete for the NSW Open Doubles title with partner Madison Inglis<\/strong>\u00a0(WA).The men\u2019s doubles final will be an international affair with Ruben Gonzales<\/strong> (PHL) and Jisung Nam<\/strong> (KOR) up against Ryan Seggerman<\/strong> (USA) and Patrick Trhac<\/strong> (USA).<\/p>\n

Play will commence at 11am tomorrow on all courts.<\/p>\n
