With more than 40 clay courts around NSW, sliding across the clay like Alex De Minaur has never been easier!<\/p>\n<p>Before you jump on court, take a look at Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie\u2019s top tips for playing on clay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.Keep height and shape on the ball:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is important to keep height and shape on the ball, as it will consequently help you have consistent rallies. However, the use of drop shots can assist in the variety of shots and utilising the whole court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Remember to slide into the ball:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to slide into the ball rather than sliding after you hit the shot. To ensure you slide smoothly, slide with the side of your foot not your toes. This will make sure you avoid stopping suddenly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Water, bag and sweep those lines!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure you water, bag and sweep after each set. Sawtell Tennis Club | Northern NSW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sawtell Tennis Club was established in 1927 and was built by a small group of Seaside volunteers. These incredible clay courts are home to the Sawtell Seaside Open and hosted the 2023 Rafa Nadal Tour.<\/p>\n<p>The club has recently resurfaced the clay courts and installed automatic watering systems.
