Have you been inspired by watching the world\u2019s best players compete for the 2023 Roland Garros title? With more than 40 clay courts around NSW, sliding across the clay like Alex De Minaur has never been easier!<\/p>\n

Before you jump on court, take a look at Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie\u2019s top tips for playing on clay.<\/p>\n

1.Keep height and shape on the ball:<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is important to keep height and shape on the ball, as it will consequently help you have consistent rallies. However, the use of drop shots can assist in the variety of shots and utilising the whole court.<\/p>\n

2. Remember to slide into the ball:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget to slide into the ball rather than sliding after you hit the shot. To ensure you slide smoothly, slide with the side of your foot not your toes. This will make sure you avoid stopping suddenly.<\/p>\n

3. Water, bag and sweep those lines!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure you water, bag and sweep after each set. This will make it easier for you to move on court and allow the ball to bounce better.<\/p>\n

1. Sawtell Tennis Club | Northern NSW<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sawtell Tennis Club was established in 1927 and was built by a small group of Seaside volunteers. These incredible clay courts are home to the Sawtell Seaside Open and hosted the 2023 Rafa Nadal Tour.<\/p>\n

The club has recently resurfaced the clay courts and installed automatic watering systems. Sawtell Tennis Club President, Karleaha Baylis said, \u201cAdding in a couple of luxuries, like built in automatic watering systems has been fantastic and such a time saver!\u201d<\/p>\n

2. Malua Bay Tennis Club | Southern NSW<\/strong><\/p>\n

This beautiful club is located in Malua Bay on the South Coast of NSW. The club has two clay courts, a hitting wall, a barbeque, as well as clubhouse facilities.<\/p>\n

3. Parkville Tennis & Social Club | Central NSW<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parkville Tennis Club is located in the beautiful Hunter Region of NSW. The Club has two clay courts, childrens playground, club house facilities and is a family and social hub for the local community .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Vince Barclay Tennis | Sydney<\/strong><\/p>\n

For over 30 years Vince Barclay Tennis has been growing great tennis at the Macquarie University complex. In 2004, the tennis centre made the bold decision to differentiate themselves from competitors, by constructing one of the few red clay courts in Metro Sydney. Notable players such as, Lleyton Hewitt, Tony Roche AO MBE, Bernard Tomic and Darren Cahill have all played on these first-class courts.<\/p>\n
