Day 6 of the NSW Open<\/strong> is complete.<\/p>\n

With 2 days left of the NSW Open, today saw the Quarter finals played of the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Singles as well as the Semi Finals of the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Doubles. Max Purcell<\/strong> is the last remaining New South Welshman standing and flew the flag high for us today. In an amazing match Purcell<\/strong> came away with the win over Tristan Schoolkate<\/strong> 7-6 (4), 6-4. In the other Quarter Final played on court 2 Aussie Adam Walton<\/strong> went down to Marek Gengel<\/strong> (CZE) 6-2, 6-0. On court 4 in the quarter finals Marc Polmans<\/strong> (AUS) defeated Mark Whitehouse<\/strong> (GBR) 6-3, 6-1 while Yu Hsiou Hsu<\/strong> was too good for our other NSW hopeful James McCabe<\/strong> winning 6-4, 6-0.<\/p>\n

In the Men\u2019s Doubles Semi Finals, Blake Ellis<\/strong> and Tristan Schoolkate<\/strong> defeated number 4 seeds Matthew Romios<\/strong> and Jason Taylor<\/strong> 6-3, 7-6 (3) while in the other Semi Edward Winter<\/strong> (AUS) and his partner Mark Whitehouse<\/strong> (GBR were defeated by Ajeet Rai<\/strong> (NZL) and partner Yuta Shimizu<\/strong> 6-2, 6-4<\/p>\n

In the Women\u2019s Singles Quarter finals 3 out of the 4 matches were won by our Aussies. Petra Hule<\/strong> (AUS) defeated Talia Gibson (AUS)<\/strong> in another tight match 6-3, 6-4 while Kimberly Birrell (AUS)<\/strong> defeated Na-Lee Han (KOR)<\/strong> 6-4, 6-1 and number 4 seeds Oliva Gadecki (AUS)<\/strong> defeated Himeno Sakatsume (JPN)<\/strong> 6-2, 6-4. Unfortunately Kaylah Mcphee (AUS)<\/strong> lost to Mai Hontama (JPN)<\/strong> 6-1, 6-0 after wining her way through to the quarter finals from qualifying.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow will see Kimberly Birrell (AUS)<\/strong> take on Petra Hule (AUS)<\/strong> in an all Aussie Semi Final to be played at 11am on court 9. This match will then be followed by Olivia Gadecki<\/strong> (AUS)<\/strong> vs Mai Hontama (JPN)<\/strong>. In the Men\u2019s Singles Semi Finals Marc Polmans (AUS)<\/strong> will play Marek Gengel (CZE)<\/strong> first on court 2 followed by Max Purcell<\/strong> vs Yu Hsiou Hsu (TPE).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Doubles Final<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The men\u2019s doubles final tomorrow will be played between Ajeet Rai (NZL)\/Yuta Shimizu (JPN)<\/strong> and Blake Ellis (AUS)\/Tristan Schoolkate (AUS)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Doubles Final<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The women\u2019s doubles final tomorrow will be played between Destanee Aiava (AUS)\/Lisa Mays (AUS)<\/strong> and Alexandra Osborne (AUS)\/Jessy Rompies (INA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matches will begin at 11.00am on courts 2 and 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n
