Day 5 of the NSW Open<\/strong> has come to an end. The weather gods shone brightly on us today making for some great tennis at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n

Today saw NSW young gun James McCabe (NSW)<\/strong> defeat Alex Bolt (AUS)<\/strong> 6-4, 7-6 (3), while NSW Player of the Year Max Purcell (NSW)<\/strong> defeated Kyle Seelig (USA)<\/strong> 6-3, 6-2 continuing his career best year.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Doubles Quarter Finals were played today with number 4 seeds Matthew Romios<\/strong> and Jason Taylor (AUS)<\/strong> defeating Alex Bolt<\/strong> and Rinky Hijikata<\/strong> 5-7, 7-6 (4), 10-5 in a tough match on court 2. Blake Ellis<\/strong> and Tristan<\/strong> Schoolkate<\/strong> defeated number 2 seeds Marc Polmans<\/strong> and Max Purcell<\/strong> 7-5, 6-3.<\/p>\n

In the Women\u2019s singles the Aussies had a stelar day with wins to number 5 seed Kimberly Birrell<\/strong> over Alexandra<\/strong> Bozovic (NSW)<\/strong> 6-2, 6-4 and number 4 seed Olivia Gadecki<\/strong> over Ya-Hsuan Lee (TPE)<\/strong> 6-3, 6-2. Fellow Aussies Kaylah<\/strong> Mcphee<\/strong>, Talia Gibson<\/strong> and Petra Hule<\/strong> also had straight sets wins today.<\/p>\n

Petra Hule (AUS)<\/strong> made it a double with a win in the doubles with partner Makenna Jones (USA)<\/strong> 0-6, 6-0, 10-6 in the fastest match of the tournament lasting 49 minutes\u00a0 0-6, 6-0, 10-6 over Aunchisa Chanta<\/strong> and Luksika<\/strong> Kumkhum (THA)<\/strong>. Wins today also for Destanee Aiava<\/strong> and Lisa Mays (AUS)<\/strong> over Kaylah Mcphee<\/strong> and Alana<\/strong> Parnaby (AUS) <\/strong>3-6, 7-6 (4), 10-7 as well as Alexandra Osborne (AUS)<\/strong> and partner Jessy Rompies (INA).<\/strong><\/p>\n

In action tomorrow will be Australians Tristan Schoolkate<\/strong> vs Max Purcell<\/strong>, Marc Polmans<\/strong>, Adam Walton<\/strong> and James McCabe<\/strong> in the singles as well as Matthew Romios<\/strong> and Jason Taylor<\/strong> vs Blake Ellis<\/strong> and Tristan Schoolkate<\/strong> and Edward Winter<\/strong> in the Doubles.<\/p>\n

In the Women\u2019s singles we will see Petra Hule<\/strong> vs Talia Gibson<\/strong> as well as Aussies Kaylah Mcphee<\/strong>, Kimberly Birrell<\/strong> and Olivia Gadecki<\/strong>. Aussies in action in the Women\u2019s doubles are Petra Hule<\/strong>, Destanee Aiava<\/strong> and Lisa<\/strong> Mays<\/strong>, Alexandra Bozovic<\/strong> and Talia Gibson<\/strong> and Alexandra Bozovic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Matches will begin at 11.00am<\/strong><\/p>\n
