Today saw\u00a027 matches played. This included first round matches in both the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Singles as well as the doubles.<\/p>\n<p>After his match being suspended last night due to rain, <strong>Aleksandar Vukic<\/strong> <strong>(NSW)<\/strong> returned today to finish off his match with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 win over Colin Sinclair (NMI). In blustery conditions, Sydney local, <strong>Rinky Hijikata (NSW) <\/strong>fought hard but unfortunately went down in 3 tough sets to <strong>Yuta Shimizu (JPN) <\/strong>6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Other Australians who had wins today Include <strong>Alex Bolt<\/strong>, <strong>Max Purcell<\/strong>, <strong>James McCabe<\/strong>, <strong>Marc Polmans<\/strong>, <strong>Luke Saville<\/strong> and <strong>Tristan<\/strong> <strong>Schoolkate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Women\u2019s Singles today number 4 seed <strong>Olivia Gadecki (QLD) <\/strong>had a convincing win over Chihiro Maramatsu (JPN) 6-2, 6-0. There were also wins for fellow Auatralian\u2019s <strong>Sara Nayar<\/strong>, <strong>Alana Parnaby<\/strong> and <strong>Kayla McPhee<\/strong> in the Singles.<\/p>\n<p>In the Doubles <strong>Mark Whitehouse (GBR)\/Edward Winter (AUS)<\/strong> defeated <strong>Aaron Addison (AUS)\/Calum Puttergill (AUS)<\/strong> 4-6, 6-4, 10-3.
