Day 2 of the NSW Open<\/strong> has been completed. Today saw\u00a017 matches played with the 18th<\/sup> match suspended due to rain. The final round of qualifying was completed for both the men and women.<\/p>\n

In the Men\u2019s Qualifying it was a mixed bag of results for NSW players with both Jordan Smith<\/strong> and Blake Mott<\/strong> going down in tough matches. NSW Male Junior Athlete of the Year Jeremy Jin<\/strong> had a convincing win over Ken Cavrak<\/strong> (SA) 6-3 6-0.<\/p>\n

In the Women\u2019s Qualifying all 8 seeds won their place in the Main draw with NSW local Lisa Mays<\/strong> beating fellow NSW player Zara Brankovic<\/strong> 6-3, 3-6, 10-3 in a rain interrupted match.<\/p>\n

Newly crowned City of Playford International winner and NSW young gun, Rinky Hijikata,<\/strong>\u00a0will open proceedings on Court 2 against Yuta Shimizu<\/strong> (JPN), with fellow New South Wales players Jeremy Jin<\/strong>, Max Purcell<\/strong> and Aleksandar Vukic<\/strong> also competing in the Men\u2019s Main Draw tomorrow.<\/p>\n

In the Doubles, NSW brothers Adam<\/strong> and Jason Taylor<\/strong> will go head to head as they play their first round doubles against each other. Women\u2019s Doubles action also begins tomorrow for NSW players Alexandra Bozovic, Zara Brankovic<\/strong> and Lisa Mays<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
